Fun with Marley at 5th St Public Market | Eugene, OR

This family, gosh I love them. I get so excited when fall rolls around and it’s time for our annual shoot. This year we decided to head down to 5th Street Public Market and I am beyond in love with how these images turned out! It kind of helps that Marley is seriously the cutest thing ever —- I mean come on! Is she for real?

We had such a fun afternoon exploring the market, taking photos and eating sour patch kids, of course. Here is a handful of my favorites.

Rustic Fall Session with the Anderson Family | Eugene, OR

It’s always such an honor (and slightly nerve wracking) when a fellow photographer asks you to photograph her family. I have known Stacey for quite some time now, having met years ago when I worked with her sister in insurance. Over the last three or four years we have had the chance to shoot together at a handful of weddings and I have had the pleasure of getting to know her better. Stacey is such a sweet, kind hearted soul. When I was pregnant with Harper she took our maternity photos and last year after her youngest, Alex was born I went to their house to shoot her newborn photos.

I was SO EXCITED when she contacted me to do some updated photos this fall. I knew I would end up loving whatever we came up with and I was definitely not disappointed. The relationships within this family are so special, they are so kind to each other, their love is so abundant. Choosing which photos to preview here has been a task because I LOVE THEM ALL.

Mason’s Pumpkin Patch Excursion Preview | Lone Pine Farms, Eugene OR

My good friend, and fellow photographer, Jamie had a baby and five and a half months later I finally got to meet him. AND I got to capture his first trip to the pumpkin patch! I cannot think of a better way to celebrate being 5 1/2 months old.

To see the world through the eyes of a child is an incredible thing and this little guy was so curious about all of it! Capturing the first time he felt (and okay tasted) hay, a pumpkin, the grass…I just loved it all! Here is a little preview of our fun afternoon!

Kephart Family Preview | Lone Pine Farms, Eugene OR

I just love watching this family grow up. Not only are they a fun, gorgeous family of four but they are some of our best friends so any excuse to see them is always a plus! It’s hard to believe its been almost six years since our first session.  We had a blast hanging out at Lone Pine eating apple cider donuts and choosing the best pumpkin.

Did I mention how much I love this family?

The Completely Adorable Aurora

This is going to be short and sweet because I am exhausted and leaving early tomorrow morning for a weekend of shooting in Eugene, but I promised mom a few more previews of her sweet little gal because she was a tad worried since this cutie decided she wasn’t too into photos during our session.

If you didn’t know, you’d never know. I love this photogenic family!

As of late I have lacked balance. In my personal and professional life. My poor blog has been ignored as well as my laundry. I am so so so thankful for all of the fantastic business I have had this fall. I have had the pleasure of working with some really wonderful, amazing people, people who instantly I knew would turn into not just great clients but great friends as well. I thought I was “prioritizing” my clients to come first but what I have realized is without a balance to my work life as well as home life I am really doing everyone a disservice. I always want to give 110% but have realized this is simply not possible if I am trying to give 110% 110% of the time. It doesn’t add up and it makes for a grumpy groggy me.

I have always found it incredibly hard to say “no” when it is something I love. A craft sale benefiting a great charity? Sign me up! Picking up a friend from the airport? Absolutely! A chance to meet some new clients and capture a special time in their life? You know I am ALL about it. And the thing is I really don’t ever want to say no to any of these things. I enjoy what I do so very much and truly love my crazy busy life! But there needs to be balance. AND…maybe a touch more organization for this right brain creative.

Sigh…If only there were a few more hours in the day (who among us hasn’t wished for this wish a handful of times?!)

Here’s a sweet baby tummy for your Tuesday! collage7
