The Moyer Family || Dorris Ranch, Springfield OR || Lifestyle Session

This session made my heart happy.

I’ve known this girl for 22 years.. we’ve been through a lot together and nothing makes me happier than being able to capture her beautiful family and the joy that radiates amongst them all.

I think its easy to allow the day to day to get us down, it seems everyone is always going in 100 different directions. Sometimes it’s hard to slow down and see the beauty within your own life.

And that is precisely why I love what I do so much, I want to be there for those moments. The ones that make all the other stuff worth it. The moments that make your heart just almost burst.

This entire session made me feel that way.

The Salazar Family || Council Crest Park, Portland OR || Lifestyle Session

I had such a great time meeting this sweet family. Wesley absolutely stole my heart with those bright blue eyes and that gorgeous smile! We started the session in his nursery, than moved on to their neighborhood park. I love photographing families in their “spaces” (homes, parks, places they frequent) I always feel it adds another element, makes it extra special when the location means something.

If it’s felt like I haven’t been around lately…it’s because I haven’t.

untitled-94-3

This sweet bundle arrived January 27th and turned our world upside down in the best way possible.

untitled-77

She stole our hearts from moment one.

untitled-95-3

And we knew…life would never be the same again.

untitled-127

I’ve spent hours upon hours staring at her perfect face. And even more than that kissing her sweet cheeks and tiny hands.

untitled-27

She’s been growing so fast. She needs to slow down.

untitled-39

I could spend forever marveling at the wonder that is her.

untitled-70-2

But I’ve also been starting to miss work.

untitled-2

So as my sweet girl approaches her 3 month birthday, I know it’s time to jump back in.

Thank you for your patience as I took the time to bond with this cutie pie.

Coming up this week I will have the adorable Duke up on the blog!

Fun with Marley at 5th St Public Market | Eugene, OR

This family, gosh I love them. I get so excited when fall rolls around and it’s time for our annual shoot. This year we decided to head down to 5th Street Public Market and I am beyond in love with how these images turned out! It kind of helps that Marley is seriously the cutest thing ever —- I mean come on! Is she for real?

We had such a fun afternoon exploring the market, taking photos and eating sour patch kids, of course. Here is a handful of my favorites.

Rustic Fall Session with the Anderson Family | Eugene, OR

It’s always such an honor (and slightly nerve wracking) when a fellow photographer asks you to photograph her family. I have known Stacey for quite some time now, having met years ago when I worked with her sister in insurance. Over the last three or four years we have had the chance to shoot together at a handful of weddings and I have had the pleasure of getting to know her better. Stacey is such a sweet, kind hearted soul. When I was pregnant with Harper she took our maternity photos and last year after her youngest, Alex was born I went to their house to shoot her newborn photos.

I was SO EXCITED when she contacted me to do some updated photos this fall. I knew I would end up loving whatever we came up with and I was definitely not disappointed. The relationships within this family are so special, they are so kind to each other, their love is so abundant. Choosing which photos to preview here has been a task because I LOVE THEM ALL.

Mason’s Pumpkin Patch Excursion Preview | Lone Pine Farms, Eugene OR

My good friend, and fellow photographer, Jamie had a baby and five and a half months later I finally got to meet him. AND I got to capture his first trip to the pumpkin patch! I cannot think of a better way to celebrate being 5 1/2 months old.

To see the world through the eyes of a child is an incredible thing and this little guy was so curious about all of it! Capturing the first time he felt (and okay tasted) hay, a pumpkin, the grass…I just loved it all! Here is a little preview of our fun afternoon!

Kephart Family Preview | Lone Pine Farms, Eugene OR

I just love watching this family grow up. Not only are they a fun, gorgeous family of four but they are some of our best friends so any excuse to see them is always a plus! It’s hard to believe its been almost six years since our first session.  We had a blast hanging out at Lone Pine eating apple cider donuts and choosing the best pumpkin.

Did I mention how much I love this family?

The Completely Adorable Aurora

This is going to be short and sweet because I am exhausted and leaving early tomorrow morning for a weekend of shooting in Eugene, but I promised mom a few more previews of her sweet little gal because she was a tad worried since this cutie decided she wasn’t too into photos during our session.

If you didn’t know, you’d never know. I love this photogenic family!

The Taylor Family | Newborn Lifestyle Photography | Portland, OR

I have been sitting here for weeks with this blog post in draft status. Each time I sit down to finish, the words somehow escape me and I am left staring at a blank screen. How can I adequately put into words what I felt while photographing this beautiful family.

This family.

This beautiful family of four who I have been blessed to call friends. This family who, to many will now only look like three. I could talk about the immense love they so clearly have for each other. I could tell you about the way Nick glances at Kate and you can tell she is his world. I could say they look down at their baby boy Eamonn, as if he hung the stars. Because all of that is true. But than there is this other side. The side I know too well. The look of longing, the pain in their eyes because part of them is missing. A piece of their heart is gone forever. They are so excited for family photos and if you didn’t know you would never know. To the world they appear the ever care free new parents happily doting on their sweet new babe. Because they are. But they are also dealing with an immense grief. A few months ago my amazing, courageous friends were forced  to say good bye to their gorgeous son Ruan, Eamonn’s twin brother. How do you adequately put into words the joy and the love and the sorrow and the grief. The millions of emotions that swirl around your brain when your child dies. You just don’t.

There are zero words to say when someone loses a child. It just shouldn’t happen. But it does. This sweet life that was, but oh so briefly. He was here. He matters. Ruan. A strong name for such a strong little man.

I loved this session.  But it was raw. I knew it would be an emotional session for me and it was. I admire Nick and Kate so much. I am honored to have captured their sweet family.

WHEW!

They say time flies when you’re having fun and it sure has been zipping by!

It’s already January 16th?? OKAY how did that happen?

Well, I guess I kind of know how that happened…

I shot the most amazing wedding ever on NYE.

I spent a long weekend in Eugene meeting with clients and catching up with friends.

I’ve had a couple of absolutely adorable babies in front of my lens over the last few weeks.

I’ve been finishing up some gorgeous family sessions from the month of December.

And I’ve been cuddling my man and my puppy.

Along with moonlighting at a friend’s bar a few nights a week…bartending is hard to get away from!

Blogging is on my mind…and I keep meaning to get caught up. So for now a few of the gorgeous faces that have found their way in front of my lens over the last few months.
